Right now, it’s usually about time that we’d start to see NHL players head to their respective training camps and start gearing up for the season.
Of course, this season is unlike any other before it, and we’re still in the thick of the Stanley Cup Playoffs as a result of the pause in the season caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. That delay also meant that every aspect of the season was delayed, which includes any off-season roster moves.
It also meant a postponement in our TSN Trade Bait list, which is expected to debut early this week. Hockey fans always love to see who the Insiders think will end up on the trade block, and when asked about it on TSN 1290 Winnipeg, Frank Seravalli had a pretty interesting answer for Jets fans.
Seravalli said that Jets fans could expect to see two of their fan favourites on the list, in Nikolaj Ehlers and Patrik Laine.

A trade like this would really change the landscape in Winnipeg, and fans are already buzzing on Twitter with thoughts on the matter.
As per @frank_seravalli ...

Laine, Ehlers tradebait?
😳 #NHLJets
What are your thoughts?
The only young top 6 winger I’m trading on this team is Kyle Connor. Nik Ehlers is easily our best winger but would have the lowest trade value of the three. Patrik Laine is a better overall player than Connor imo. Connor is the one who makes sense to trade.

He’s a generational sniper you don’t trade those guys. You don’t trade skill to get grit

Changes that should be made before trading Ehlers or Laine

Move the team to Flin Flon
Trade Hellebuyck

Definitely some mixed emotion regarding these potential moves.
