Leafs fans have a lot to be excited about next season. Yes, losing in the qualifying round was disappointing, but they’ve still got Auston Matthews, JT, and Mitch Marner, and they could have some exciting new faces join the lineup.
One of those faces could be Mikko Lehtonen. The 26-year-old d-man who was signed earlier this year is playing in the KHL and he’s off to an incredible start this season, highlighted by an awesome backhand goal.

Yeah, this guy is a defenceman and he’s got some serious offensive skills.

Leafs fans on Twitter are absolutely pumped about Lehtonen and it’s easy to see why.
I think a lot of people are overlooking Mikko Lehtonen when assessing next year's Leafs team. https://t.co/HwMtgYrsXv

I think too many people are sleeping on Mikko Lehtonen

He’s a guy who I legitimately think his game will transfer better than one would think to the NHL level, it just depends on how he settles in a lesser role https://t.co/LYsLKXmwMc
